· Raised funds and in-kind donations to help support the maintenance and restoration of a neglected city amphitheater and park as president of a non-profit organization
· Helped secure protection from development 200 acres of Anoka parkland
· Assisted in bringing the Anoka River Run Car Show to Anoka in 2002, bringing thousands to Anoka and helping local businesses earn extra revenue
· Protected the rights of property owners by speaking out against the city’s plans to take citizens property and sell it to outside developers
· Co-lead the effort to protect single-family areas from construction of high-density housing and apartments

· Bachelors degree from the U of M majoring in urban studies and political science with minors in
geography and history
· Continually taking courses in property appraisal and valuation
· Volunteered as the first Heritage Preservation Commission intern in the City of Anoka and created
its housing survey of historic homes
